What is Eyelid Surgery?
Blepharoplasty is a general surgical term that includes many different procedures all aiming to improve and rejuvenate the eyes. Eye surgery or blepharoplasty, performed by Dr. Owsley, is one of the most common cosmetic surgery procedures performed today. Eyelid surgery can be used to address droopy upper eyelids or puffy lower eyelids. By removing the excess tissue and correcting wrinkles, the eyes can be returned to their more youthful appearance.
Dr. Mark Owsley has more than two decades of experience in facial plastic surgery and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

At your consultation appointment, Dr. Owsley will evaluate your eye area and review the procedure that is best for you. Photos will be taken and any questions about the procedure will be answered.
Many times blepharoplasty is combined with other facial surgeries, but when performed alone, the procedure can be done in the office under local anesthesia.
Once you decide that you’re ready to schedule surgery, you will be required to pay a deposit to secure your surgery date. This deposit is applied to your surgical costs.
Recovery and Typical Results
Before your surgery date, an oral anti-anxiety medication will be prescribed to relax you during the surgery. The day of your surgery, your blood pressure will be monitored and must be within a certain range in order to proceed with the surgery.
You will need someone to drive you home.
A post-op appointment will be scheduled for the removal of stitches one week after surgery. You can resume wearing makeup and contacts two weeks after the procedure.
